Filming "Unforgettable memories in Laos"
(Baonghean) 2012 is the Year of Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship. In the two countries, there have been many meetings and exchanges between the Party, the State and localities, along with various forms of activities such as writing profound memories, collecting souvenirs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, 35 years of signing the Vietnam - Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
This is an opportunity for the two countries to review and deepen the special friendship and solidarity between the two peoples that was painstakingly cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and Prince Souva Nuvong and built with the blood and bones of many generations of armed forces and people of the two countries throughout history. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to open a new chapter in the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos, towards the future. Joining in that event, the Border Guard officers and soldiers who participated in the K5 campaign to help Laos during the anti-American war to save the country, had an emotional meeting in Vinh City after 40 years of completing their mission and returning home.

To contribute to reflecting the feats and silent but heroic sacrifices of soldiers who participated in the K5 campaign in Laos, the Border Guard Command decided to produce the film “Unforgettable memories in Laos”. With the agreement of Vietnam and the neighboring provinces, we made a journey to record images of each military position, meet witnesses who fought side by side between Vietnam and Laos in the K5 campaign in Laos, to complete the film on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army in 2012. Here are some images of this filming trip.
