Making a film to commemorate the tsunami disaster in Japan

Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV will team up with Hollywood director Ridley Scott to produce a documentary project using videos recorded by people around the world about their day one year after the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan.

This special project is produced by Fuji Television and Scott Free Production Company, run by director Ridley Scott and his brother, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan that killed more than 19,000 people (March 11, 2011 and March 11, 2012).

The film, titled Japan in a Day, will be made up of videos recorded by people in Japan and around the world about their lives on March 11, 2012, one year after the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan.

In addition, Fuji will also place 200 cameras in the disaster-affected areas to record the lives of local people on this special day.

These videos will be collected on a separate Youtube channel.http://www.youtube.com/JapanInADay/, and was also made into a movie for the big screen.

The film is expected to be completed this fall and released in Japan and other countries. Fuji TV plans to donate all proceeds from the film to victims affected by the disaster.

Director Ridley Scott, famous for films such as Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, etc., said: "We wanted to have a broad view of the daily lives, hopes, fears and dreams of the Japanese people."
