(Baonghean) - After many experiments, Professor Akira Kojima of Gunma University of Technology, Japan discovered that carbon fiber bundles have the ability to clean water, reduce phosphorus concentration in ponds and lakes, and can even clean... urine.

To date, carbon fiber has been used to purify water in ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams in more than 200 projects in Japan. This technology has been exported to China since 2008 and was first applied in the Suzhou River and Taihu Lake.

Here, people placed about 800 carbon fiber units in each place. The results showed that carbon fiber can reduce the concentration of ammonia in the water. In addition, after 4 months of placing these carbon fiber bundles, many types of fish came to the carbon fiber bundles to lay eggs, increasing the amount of fish in these two rivers and lakes.

Similar results were obtained when applying this technology in some ponds and lakes inPhilippines.

Professor Akima Kojima believes that, when humanity is facing many challenges and technological barriers, carbon materials are the solution to help us build a safer world. The professor from Gunma University of Technology also expressed hope that this technology will be applied in Vietnam, where many rivers, ponds and lakes are polluted.
