Since investing in the construction of Hoang Mai cement project, the environmental impact assessment report was approved by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, and implementing environmental protection work, Vicem Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company has focused on investment and achieved remarkable results.
The company has applied measures to minimize dust emission such as: Installing 64 bag filters and 4 electrostatic dust filters at locations with the risk of dust emission to limit dust emission into the environment. It is known that, thanks to the investment in installing a modern wastewater treatment system, the company has exploited and treated wastewater in a timely manner. During the cement production process, the water in the factory is mainly cooling water for equipment, which is treated in a closed cycle. Wastewater discharged into the environment is mainly domestic water (before being discharged into the environment, domestic wastewater from workers working at the factory is collected in septic tanks, then filtered and treated by microbiological methods at the factory's wastewater reservoir before being discharged into the outside environment). Solid waste control is also carried out in accordance with regulations. Solid waste is classified and collected according to the process and to treat solid waste, the company has invested in building a landfill for the factory. Hazardous waste is separated and put into storage, then destroyed. The company is completing the registration procedure for hazardous waste treatment at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. Currently, the company has designed, manufactured, installed equipment and built a technological process to treat hazardous waste by high temperature burning in Clinker kilns according to standard 41/2012.
