Do a good job of promoting "Day for the Poor"

(Baonghean) -On the afternoon of February 21, the "Day for the Poor" Campaign Committee organized a summary of the "Day for the Poor" Campaign and implemented the Prime Minister's Letter and the Letter from the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee sent to businesses calling for support to build "Great Unity" houses for poor households in 2011 and deploy tasks for 2012.

In 2011, the "Day for the Poor" Campaign continued to receive attention and response from all levels, sectors, agencies, units, enterprises and people inside and outside the province. The "Fund for the Poor" in the whole province mobilized over 25 billion VND, renovated and repaired over 1,490 "Great Unity" houses, supported poor households with seedlings, medicine, and saved the poor from hunger with over 547 million VND.

To continue calling on agencies, units, businesses and people of all walks of life to join hands to help the poor overcome difficulties and escape poverty, the Provincial "Day for the Poor" Campaign Committee has developed a plan to mobilize support for the "Fund for the Poor" in 2012 and continue to implement the Prime Minister's letter and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee's letter calling on businesses to support the construction of "Great Unity" houses for poor households and infrastructure for poor communes and districts in the province. The goal in 2012 is for the whole province to mobilize 17 billion VND, strive to repair and build 1,600 houses for poor households, support poor households with means of production materials, medical treatment, help children study and save them from famine and natural disasters.

The "Fund for the Poor" is mobilized on the basis of voluntary participation of individuals and organizations. However, to achieve the set goal, the Mobilization Committee plans to mobilize support as follows: civil servants and public employees receiving state salaries each person will support at least 1 day's salary; enterprises in addition to supporting each person at least 1 day's salary or more, if possible, units can deduct a portion of welfare benefits to support; households not classified as poor households in Vinh City, Cua Lo Town, Thai Hoa and towns of districts will support 20,000 VND or more; families not classified as poor households in rural areas will support 10,000 VND or more; mobilize enterprises with conditions to continue implementing the Prime Minister's appeal letter and the President's letter on supporting the construction of "Great Unity" houses for poor households, at least 1 enterprise will build 1 house or more.
