Cross Vietnam Tour
The Lao People's Army Art Troupe is on a friendship tour in Vietnam until September 30. With the "Lam Vong" identity combined with Vietnamese folk dances and music, the cross-Vietnam "tour" of the Lao People's Army Art Troupe brings interesting and emotional performances.
Dance performance "Remembering the old battlefield" by the Lao People's Army Art Troupe
The tour of the Lao People's Army Art Troupe is one of the activities to celebrate the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Year 2012. Colonel Nguyen Phuong Dien, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics, Ministry of National Defense said: "Implementing the program of friendship cooperation and cultural exchange between the State and the Army of the two countries, for many years now the Art Troupe of the two People's Army has made many visits and performances to serve each other. Those performances always leave deep impressions, warm brotherly feelings, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and fighting spirit between the armies and people of the two countries".
During this friendship tour, the Lao People's Army Art Troupe performed for many military units in different regions of Vietnam such as Military Region 2, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Military Region 4, Military Region 5, Army Corps 3, Army Corps 15... At the performance at the Army Theater, Hanoi, artist Mani Van Son Hung, Lao People's Army Art Troupe confided: "Laos and Vietnam are two close neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship and solidarity, becoming a special relationship that is rare in current international relations. It must be said that no pen or writer can fully describe the special friendship and solidarity between Laos and Vietnam. Nothing can measure the friendship between Vietnam and Laos like the saying of Uncle Suvanuvong: "Higher than mountains, longer than rivers, wider than the ocean, brighter than the full moon, more fragrant than the most fragrant flower".
Indeed, with the Lam Vong identity combined with Vietnamese music and folk songs, the performances of the Lao People's Army Art Troupe are truly a symbol of friendship and solidarity. The structure of the Lao People's Army Art Troupe's performance program is sequential, progressing with a Vietnamese song or piece of music. Singer Cong vi lay Say vang lat, after showing off his voice with the song Bac Cay xon trong tim toi by musician Bua Ngan, Laos, performed the song Tieng hat giu rung Pac Bo by musician Nguyen Tai Tue, Vietnam. Male singer Xu li xac Keo u thon also performed two songs from Laos and Vietnam in a row with Nho luu chien truong xua by national artist Bun pa xoong Sai xe ca man and Cung dan mua xuan by Cao Viet Bach...
The beauty of Lao culture is that every time visitors from near and far come to visit, their feelings are expressed through songs and dances that are characteristic of the Lao people's cultural identity. With the cross-Vietnam tour of the Lao People's Army Art Troupe, Vietnamese audiences can feel more about the life, feelings, and close ties between the Lao people and Vietnam. Raindrops and the Lu girl, choreographed by Lao National Artist Ma lay thong Xom pha vet, recreated the simple and beautiful life of the Lu people, a Lao ethnic minority living in the high mountains of Northern Laos. A time when Vietnamese and Lao soldiers fought together in the anti-American resistance war, the rice grains were broken in half, the vegetable stalks were divided in half, and the dance performance Remembering the old battlefield...
Interestingly, many performances by the Lao People's Army Art Troupe brought surprises and impressions to the audience. There have been many Lao singers who sang Vietnamese songs very "round and clear", with the Lao People's Army Art Troupe also having voices such as female singer Cong vi lay Say vang lat, male singer Xu li xac Keo u thon... but when the whole male and female choir sang together the song Co gai mo duong, the whole audience was really impressed and applauded. Moreover, with the song Tinh Viet Lao composed by Nghe musician Ho Huu Thoi, the audience could not help but be surprised by the way the male and female duet Voong xay Bua pha van and Ma ni van Son Hung handled the folk songs of Nghe Tinh.
Besides the Lam Vong dance, the Lao People's Army Art Troupe also has unique Lao panpipe performances. Being a traditional musical instrument that has become a cultural feature of Laos, Lao panpipe solos always leave strong impressions on audiences from many countries. However, with the Trong Com piece, a Vietnamese Quan Ho folk song, artist Am Phay Khan Tha Voong Xa has boldly "adventurously" brought interesting surprises. Or with the Lao panpipe and Tinh lute dance, the long-standing cultural exchange relationship between Vietnam and Laos has been interestingly artisticized.
