(Baonghean.vn) - True to its name, the program organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor has given a lot of spiritual strength to children of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances before the new school year 2022-2023.

Behind the show

Sharing about the humanitarian significance when coming up with the idea of implementing this program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi - Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation said: “Everyone knows that the lives of workers and laborers are still difficult, and in the past 2 years of the pandemic, those difficulties have increased many times over. And everyone understands that, for those workers, the burden of family, especially taking care of children, is what worries and concerns them the most. On the contrary, the first group to directly suffer when their work is affected is also their children. As an organization that cares for and protects the rights of workers, Nghe An Labor Union hopes to be able to accompany, encourage, and share with workers on the journey of taking care of future generations. That is also the reason why this program was born”.

From the above idea, the program content has been developed and disseminated to each facility. At the two model programs in Nghi Loc district and the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union, from thousands of union members, the list of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances was selected by union officials with the most impartial, typical and practical criteria. There are poor families, single-parent families, families with terminally ill parents, and families with children with serious illnesses... One piece of information is a concern, each time a name is crossed out is a consideration. After many changes, 255 children with255 particularly difficult circumstancesdifferent options are available.

As the person directly implementing the main items of the program, Ms. Le Phuc Loi - a specialist of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Federation of Labor for Women, shared: "Even choosing the form of gift giving and developing the script made us think a lot. In the end, the organizing committee agreed to give gifts in kind instead of cash with the hope that these would be meaningful souvenirs that could accompany and be present in the children's school trips in one way or another. Who knows, that presence could also be a reminder, a word of encouragement."

Sharing more about the process of completing the script, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of the Provincial Labor Federation said that this was the first time organizing an event for children of workers and laborers of different ages, the program organizers themselves had to carefully calculate for every situation.

“The program must be attractive enough, suitable for all ages, ensuring safety and order for preschool and primary school children, ensuring speed and conciseness but still complete and with highlights... To meet these requirements, we had to give suggestions, change the script many times, add, remove, rearrange the performances, quizzes, lion dances, party-breaking... During the implementation process, in addition to the key role of the Provincial Federation of Labor union officials, we also need the support of grassroots union officials and the cooperation of parents. In addition, the program has called for the cooperation and companionship of major sponsors. This is also a reason why the program has spread and connected more meaningfully" - Ms. Thuy said.

Spread the joy

Late at night on August 30, when the program "Sharing love - Going to school with you"in Nghi Loc districtThe ceremony ended, the Organizing Committee was only a few people left, then Ms. Tran Thi Sen and her son - a worker at BLS Garment Company Ltd. rushed in. The mother and son were late because her child came home late from school, and their house was in Nghi Thuy ward (Cua Lo town), far from the venue. Looking at the thin and fragile figures of the mother and son gradually disappearing, everyone felt sorry for them. They felt even more sorry when they checked the list and learned about the mother and son's situation. Her husband was in poor health and could not work, her second child had a developmental delay, Ms. Sen's salary as a worker was enough to cover her living expenses and pay for medical treatment... For her, a gift, a word of encouragement, no matter how small, was extremely valuable.

“Although I couldn’t attend the program, watch the lion dance, or enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival, my child still received a gift from the Provincial Trade Union sent to the local Trade Union. Everyone in the family was happy when they opened the gift, especially when the school bag was old and the desk lamp hadn’t been bought yet, it was extremely practical,” Ms. Sen confided.

One of 95 childrenworker's childParticipating in the program "Sharing love - Going to school with you" in Nghi Loc district, Nguyen Thi Ha Anh is probably one of the girls with the most special circumstances. She has just undergone surgery for a cyst. Ha Anh's mother herself had to ask the doctor's permission to bring Ha Anh to participate in the program because she is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Raising her child alone, Ha Anh and her mother's life depends on the meager salary of a worker at Trung Lai Gas Lighter Company. She confided: "The family only has two mothers and children to rely on each other. I myself have received a lot of support and care from the company's Union, both materially and spiritually. Now my child also receives care from the Provincial Union. My mother and I have received great comfort and encouragement."

Quietly and attentively watched from beginning to end the program "Sharing love - Going to school with you" held atBac Vinh Industrial Park, student Le Gia Ky (grade 8, Nghi Lien Secondary School) said that he was really happy because this was the first time he had participated in a program dedicated to children of workers like him. Fondling the gift in his hand, Ky shyly shared: “My father passed away early, my mother is a worker at a teddy bear manufacturing company who takes care of my grandmother and me alone. I am old enough to know how hard my mother has to make ends meet, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Coming here, meeting many friends with similar circumstances, even more difficult than me, with good academic achievements, I realized that I need to try harder to make my mother happy.”

Ky's thoughts are also the thoughts of the two children of Ms. Nguyen Thi Vui (a worker at Great Longview Limited Company). After her husband passed away, Ms. Vui became a worker and raised her two daughters alone, facing many difficulties and hardships. At this event, her two daughters, one received a gift from the Provincial Trade Union, the other received a scholarship from the Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, she was very happy.

The children receiving gifts at Bac Vinh Industrial Park are the children of workers and laborers of the Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union. Sharing about the circumstances of these cases, Ms. Tran Thi Nguyet - Vice President of Dong Nam Economic Zone Trade Union said: “Most of the children receiving support at Bac Vinh Industrial Park are orphans, their lives are lacking both materially and spiritually, when the whole family has only one breadwinner, the main income depends on the workers' shift salary. Therefore, the attention of the Provincial Labor Federation is extremely meaningful to the children and their families. We hope that in the coming time, the program will continue to be expanded, spread, and call for socialized resources to further support the children”.

During 2 days (August 30 and 31), the program "Sharing love - Going to school with children" presented 255 gifts to children of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances belonging to the Nghi Loc District Trade Union and the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union. Of which, 200 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, were from the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; 40 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, were from BIDV Nghe An Bank; 15 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, were from the Viettel Military Industry - Telecommunications Group.
