Looking at the satellite map, Da Tay Island is a diamond-shaped coral reef located in the Northeast - Southwest direction, about 7 nautical miles long, the widest point is about 6km. Da Tay Island is located 235 nautical miles from Cam Ranh, with an area of about 51km.2In the middle is a large, deep, closed lake system, very convenient for fishing boats to take shelter from storms. |

The West Rock Reef can be divided into four separate reefs, the natural boundaries being the channels into the lake. On the eastern reef, there is a sandbar, from April 1988, the naval engineering force built a high-rise building, which became the station for officers and soldiers. In July 1988, the navy dropped buoys to mark the channels on the eastern side of the island to help ships easily navigate in and out of the island.

In particular, on Da Tay Island, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has built a service - economic - scientific cluster with an area of about 3km2. This is a place that provides free fresh water, buys seafood, sells diesel oil, and ice to fishermen, helping fishermen stay at sea longer. Every year, the Da Tay fishing logistics service area has provided thousands of cubic meters of fresh water, sold more than 4,000 cubic meters of diesel oil, repaired dozens of damaged boats and ships for fishermen, and become a safe haven for hundreds of fishing boats during rough seas or storms.

This is also the first island point in Truong Sa island district to build a community house in the program "Contributing stones to build Truong Sa". Currently, on the island there are 3 community houses at 3 points A, B, C. This is the address for Vietnamese fishermen to rest, take shelter and receive medical care after working days at sea, helping fishermen feel more secure, along with the armed forces day and night guarding the sea and sky of the fatherland.
