The charity concert attracted the attention and participation of nearly 200 Vietnamese people, German friends and representatives of associations in Leipzig, surrounding areas and from many states in Germany, who had the heart to support the association's fund, no matter how small or large.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Tran Hoang Hai - Editor-in-Chief of Tuan Tin Tuc (a weekly newspaper for the Vietnamese community in Germany), founder and current Chairman of the Association, reviewed the process of formation and development as well as the work that the Association has done since Tuan Tin Tuc launched the establishment of the association's fund in 2009. The Association has been recognized by the Leipzig Court and Department of Finance as a non-profit charity fund.

To date, the Association has supported 296 disadvantaged cases with a total amount of over 3 billion VND, and built 4 gratitude houses in Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Hai Duong and Hanoi. The Fund has also awarded 68 scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties.

On behalf of the Executive Board of the Association, Mr. Tran Hoang Hai expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Association, Leipzig Women's Association, Brandenburg Vietnamese Association, Magdeburg German-Vietnamese Friendship Association, companies and individuals who have always actively supported and accompanied the Association's activities over the past 5 years.

Not only contributing to supporting difficult circumstances and poor students who overcome difficulties, the association also wishes to share and send the sentiments of the Vietnamese community in Germany to the beloved students of Truong Sa - where mothers and fathers are day and night firmly holding guns to protect the sky and sea of the Fatherland. And the organization of the charity music night "For beloved Truong Sa students" is also for that purpose.

In order to express the Embassy’s concern and support for the Association’s activities, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao – First Secretary, in charge of community work, spoke highly of the organization of the charity concert for the homeland’s sea and islands. She emphasized that throughout its operation, the Association has had many meaningful activities, especially the charity program for children on Truong Sa island.

The Embassy representative also believes that the love and kindness of the people will help to make the children's dreams of going to school come true, especially in the difficult environment of the islands. She also expressed her gratitude to the members, associations, and benefactors who have opened their hearts and joined hands to contribute to charity work, specifically towards the homeland; expressing her hope that there will continue to be many supporters so that the fund can grow and reach out to more difficult situations in the country.

Attending the charity concert, the audience was also deeply moved when many children from remote areas in Germany saved every penny, sometimes just a few euros, to bring to support the fund. The amount of money is small but the meaning is great and if there are many hearts like that, there will be more smiles, more difficult cases, more unfortunate circumstances will be helped.

The charity concert with the support of People's Artist Thanh Hoa and a number of artists from within the country really left a lasting impression on the attendees.

The total amount of donations of more than 5,000 Euros will soon be sent to support the construction of schools in Truong Sa.
