Quy Chau incense village in season
(Baonghean.vn) -The traditional incense making profession of Quy Chau people has existed for a long time, closely linked to the origin of Quy agarwood trees (ancient) and today's agarwood roots. Currently, the whole district has 4 communes and towns making incense, of which the largest concentration is in Tan Lac town with nearly 100 households making the profession.
Every year, the craft villages here export millions of agarwood flowers to the national market, thereby contributing to the unique flavor of the traditional national New Year.
To have quality agarwood, producers must prepare from the beginning of the year, in the second and third lunar months they go into the forest to harvest or buy bamboo and young bamboo to soak in the pond. After more than 3 months, the raw materials are scooped up and washed, then chopped into small pieces to make chu (incense feet). Along with that, they order incense roots from all over the province to import... From October to December of the lunar calendar every year is the peak season for agarwood production.
Present at the incense craft villages of Quy Chau in the last days of the year, Nghe Newspaper reporters recorded some images:

The flammable paper used to roll incense is imported from Bac Ninh. After being cut to size, the paper is painted and dried.
At Ha Loan facility, one of the largest incense producers in Tan Lac town, during peak months, it usually employs over 20 workers, each worker rolling an average of 3,000 incense sticks per day.
