Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security inspect the results of work at the Nghe An Provincial Police.
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 28th, Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Minister of Public Security, led a delegation from the Ministry of Public Security to visit and work with the Nghe An Provincial Police. Attending and working with the delegation from Nghe An province were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Mr. Thai Van Hang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
During the meeting, the leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Police reported to the Deputy Minister and the delegation on the situation and results of police work in the first 10 months of 2013.
In recent times, the security and order situation in Nghe An province has been quite complex, but the provincial police force has closely followed the directives of the Ministry of Public Security, advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to effectively direct the work of ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety in the locality. Along with monitoring the situation and effectively combating the activities of hostile forces, the police forces in the province have continuously launched intensive campaigns to attack and suppress crime; focusing on effectively combating various types of crimes related to social order, economy, and environment, preventing the formation of organized crime groups operating in a mafia-style manner and addressing hotspots of social vices; and dismantling large drug trafficking rings…
The Nghe An Provincial Police also seriously implemented solutions to improve the quality of political and ideological work, organized self-criticism and criticism sessions in accordance with the spirit of Central Resolution 4 on "Some urgent issues concerning Party building today"; and educated officers and soldiers to always uphold the spirit of responsibility for serving the people...
During the meeting, the Nghe An Provincial Police also submitted five proposals to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security regarding security in special-regions, drug rehabilitation, and the development of the People's Police force.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister To Lam commended and highly appreciated the efforts and results achieved by the Nghe An Provincial Police in all aspects of their work over the past period. The Deputy Minister requested that, in the coming time, the Nghe An Provincial Police should do even better in mobilizing the people, especially in special areas; maintain and further develop the special relationship with the provinces of neighboring Laos to effectively ensure border security; improve intelligence gathering to avoid being caught off guard; and strongly combat drug-related crimes, as this is a source of other crimes… To effectively fulfill these requirements, Deputy Minister To Lam emphasized that the Nghe An Provincial Police need to focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of basic professional work, prioritizing district-level police, and deploying forces appropriately to meet the requirements and tasks of ensuring security and order…

On the same day, Deputy Minister To Lam and the delegation, along with representatives from the leadership of Nghe An province and the provincial police, laid flowers and offered incense to the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien historical site, and lit incense at the memorial house of the late Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc Hoan in Nam Trung, Nam Dan.
