Leaders of press agencies from Nghe An province visit families of missing and deceased sailors
(Baonghean.vn) - The delegation directly visited the families of dead or missing crew members and families of those who died while providing supplies to fight forest fires to share their grief and give gifts of encouragement to the families.
On July 6, a working delegation led by Major General, journalist, writer Nguyen Hong Thai - Editor-in-Chief of People's Police Magazine, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Strategy, and History of the Ministry of Public Security, representing leaders of press agencies from Nghe An province, visited and sympathized with the families of 10 crew members who died or went missing in the shipwreck in the Gulf of Tonkin on June 28.

Joining the delegation were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Police and leaders of Quynh Luu district; Muong Thanh Hotel Group.

The total amount of money that the leaders of the press agencies from Nghe An contributed to support the 9 families whose members died or went missing in the shipwreck and the families whose members died in the forest fire was 40 million VND. Joining the delegation, the representative of Muong Thanh Hotel Group also supported the families with 50 million VND.
The delegation visited each family whose members were missing or died in the shipwreck. Here, Major General Nguyen Hong Thai represented 14 leaders of the press agencies from Nghe An province to present gifts of encouragement to the families. Major General Thai shared the loss of the families when their loved ones died or went missing and hoped that the families would soon overcome this pain to stabilize their lives.

“Although the gift is small, it is the heart of the children of Nghe An far from home to the families. We hope the families will be mentally stable and trust in the active participation of the authorities in searching for the 9 missing crew members,” said Major General Thai.
The delegation also visited the family of Mr. Tran Dinh Niem (residing in Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan district) to give a gift of encouragement to the family after the death of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Mr. Niem's wife) while delivering supplies to the forest fire fighting force on June 30.

After hearing the family recount the tragic incident, Major General Nguyen Hong Thai and the members of the delegation could not hold back their emotions. Major General Thai said that the family's loss would be recognized by the State and society and hoped that the family would suppress their grief to stabilize their lives.
Next, the delegation also visited Nam Dan District Police. Talking to the officers and soldiers there, Major General Thai acknowledged the sense of responsibility, bravery, and disregard for hardship and danger of the officers and soldiers of the People's Police while participating in fighting the forest fire.

Major General Thai suggested that the officers and soldiers of Nam Dan District Police must continue to train and strive to be worthy of being police officers in Uncle Ho's homeland. Thereby, building a strong people's police force, performing well the task of ensuring political security and social order and safety in Uncle Ho's homeland, and being a model for the police force nationwide to learn and follow.
"The search for the missing crew members is still being actively carried out by the authorities. Since this morning, the rescue ship Huu Tong has been sent to this sea area to carry out the search, but due to strong currents, divers have not been able to reach the location of the sunken ship. Currently, the Ministry of National Defense has mobilized the ship Tan Cang 69 (Navy) from Ho Chi Minh City to the above area to carry out the search for the crew members."
