Senior leaders of Vietnam and Laos attend a workshop to share experiences in ethnic work in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The workshop is an opportunity to deeply and comprehensively analyze issues regarding the role of the political system at all levels, of ethnic minority communities, and prestigious people living along the Vietnam - Laos border in fostering the great tradition of friendship between the two neighboring countries.
On the morning of December 7, in Nghe An, the Vietnam Ethnic Committee, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction and the Lao Ministry of Interior held a workshop on "Continuing to foster the great friendship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam and sharing experiences in ethnic work".
Attending the workshop on the Lao side were comrades: Say Som Phon Phom Vi Han - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction; Kham Man Sun Vi Lot - Party Central Committee member, Minister of the Lao Ministry of Interior; Kham Bay Dam Lat - Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction; Vieng Xay Da Ra Sen - Temporary Representative of the Lao Democratic Republic in Vietnam.
On the Vietnamese side, there were comrades: Truong Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government; Tran Thanh Man - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Party Central Committee members: Do Van Chien - Minister, Chairman of the Vietnam Ethnic Committee; Hau A Lenh - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Dieu K' Re - Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization.

Special solidarity and loyalty
The workshop is an opportunity to deeply and comprehensively analyze issues regarding the role of the political system at all levels, of ethnic minority communities, and prestigious people living along the Vietnam - Laos border in fostering the great tradition of friendship between the two neighboring countries.
At the same time, we aim at the common goals that the two Parties and two States have pointed out in ensuring security and national defense in mountainous ethnic minority areas; mobilizing and promoting the role of prestigious people in ethnic minority areas to ensure great national unity, firmly building the people's security posture, national defense for all ethnic minority areas; solutions for socio-economic development, preserving and promoting national cultural identity; and at the same time, sharing good experiences and valuable lessons in ethnic work of the two countries.

“This is an opportunity for us to further strengthen the solidarity between our two peoples and countries, as well as the closeness between the peoples on both sides of the Truong Son mountain range,” Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh emphasized in his opening speech at the conference.
Attending the workshop, comrade Say Som Phon Phom Vi Han - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction also affirmed: The people of the two countries have a special relationship, traditional solidarity and friendship in the history of fighting for national independence and building and defending the Fatherland.
The long-standing traditional friendship and solidarity between the two countries has been constantly nurtured by the two Parties and peoples, becoming a rare example of loyalty, purity, and steadfastness in today's volatile international relations.

"The organization of this workshop between our two countries is to continue to concretize the agreements signed between the two Parties and two States in the 2012-2020 period; to continue to preserve and foster the close relationship and solidarity between the ethnic minority communities of the two countries" - Comrade Say Som Phon Phom Vi Han - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction affirmed.
Sharing experiences on ethnic work
At the workshop, delegates contributed many passionate and profound opinions, accurately reflecting the issues raised in practice, conveying many rich contents, sharing valuable lessons, successes as well as wishes about ethnic work, focusing on the topics: The close-knit friendship and special relationship between the Vietnamese - Lao ethnic communities.
Many delegates shared their experiences in poverty reduction and sustainable development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas; Lessons on preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minority communities living along the Vietnam - Laos border; Experience in building great solidarity of ethnic minority communities in the context of international integration...

In his closing speech at the workshop, comrade Tran Thanh Man - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized: Looking back at the development of the Vietnam - Laos relationship over the past nearly 60 years, we have the right to proudly affirm that the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been and are continuing to be consolidated, innovated and developed more deeply and widely, contributing practically to the cause of national construction, protection and development of each country.
In every step forward of the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Lao Front for National Construction have both made positive contributions, contributing to the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos becoming increasingly close, strong, and constantly blossoming and bearing fruit on the basis of strengthening coordination in activities according to the tasks of the two Fronts' work, especially the relationship between the fronts of localities sharing the border between the two countries.

The two sides have coordinated to organize many extensive propaganda activities among all classes of people to continue to strengthen solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the people of the two countries; coordinated to organize seminars to build a peaceful and friendly border; promoted the results of mobilizing people in localities along the border of each country to cooperate and help each other in various fields; participated in maintaining security and order along the border between Laos and Vietnam.
