According to RIA Novosti on April 6, in a statement posted on Telegram, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said that 3,000 Wagner group fighters along with their commander are being transferred to the Akhmat special forces.

"I would like to announce great news. Based on the results of successful negotiations between the Commander of the Akhmat Special Forces - Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army of the Russian Armed Forces Apta Alaudinov, and the leadership of the Wagner group, it has been decided that: One of the Wagner commanders with the nickname "Ratibor" will join the Akhmat Special Forces. Together with this commander, 3,000 Wagner fighters will also join the special forces" - Chechen leader Kadyrov announced.

Leader Kadyrov said that the Russian Defense Ministry has allocated the necessary number of vacancies in the unit. In the near future, all organizational issues will be resolved and the soldiers will be able to start performing combat missions.

"The decision to include Wagner fighters in the Akhmat special forces is a strategically important step aimed at strengthening the country's defense capabilities and increasing the effectiveness of our unit," Kadyrov added.

In February 2024, the Wagner Private Military Group was renamed the "African Corps" and placed under the command of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This force is currently operating in five countries.
