President Putin sees himself as a soldier protecting Russia.
In the Russian Republic of Chechnya, President Putin said he considered himself a soldier defending Russia like many other soldiers.

According to RIA Novosti, during his visit to the Russian Republic of Chechnya on August 20, visiting the Russian Special Forces University and talking to volunteers sent to the Northern Military District, Russian President Vladimir Putin shared that he considers himself a true soldier like all those who protect the interests of the Russian Federation in special military operations. According to Mr. Putin, this means that everyone has an equal position.
Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov said that the Chechen army has now been provided with the necessary equipment, weapons and everything needed for military operations.
“I am just an infantryman” – leader Kadyrov shared and received an approving pat on the shoulder from President Putin.
“We are all infantrymen. In this sense, we are all in the same position,” President Putin said.
When asked by a journalist whether “Putin’s infantry” like Kadyrov were a testament to his trust, President Putin said: “If I had more infantry like that, I would be very happy. Because infantry like Kadyrov are worth a lot.”
Russian President Putin visited the Republic of Chechnya on August 20. There, the Russian leader visited the grave of the republic's first president, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there were still many ruins in Chechnya, calling the changes taking place in Grozny "unimaginable".
