Russian Communist leaders lay wreaths at Lenin's Mausoleum on anniversary of his death
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov, independent candidate for President of the Russian Federation Pavel Grudinin and party leaders laid wreaths at the Vladimir Lenin Mausoleum in central Moscow to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the death of the Russian proletarian revolutionary leader.

"I believe that we are all responsible for the history of the Lenin era. The Lenin era opened up a new world, which in essence raised the country to the cosmic level, to the heights of the May 1945 Victory, ensuring a dignified life for every citizen," Zyuganov said after the ceremony.
The ceremony was also attended by deputies of the State Duma and regional parliaments, Communist Party members of Moscow City and Moscow Region, as well as numerous representatives of social organizations.

In May 1922, Lenin became seriously ill, and from December he was transferred to hospital and did not participate in political activities. In March 1923, his condition became critical and on January 21, 1924, Lenin died. The coffin with Lenin's body is preserved in the Mausoleum on Red Square in Moscow.
