Party and State leaders commemorate heroic martyrs

On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2016), on the morning of July 27, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

Attending the memorial service were General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; President Tran Dai Quang, former President Tran Duc Luong; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, former National Assembly Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung; and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Also attending the memorial ceremony were leaders and former senior leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front; Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers; leaders of ministries, central agencies, sectors, and organizations, and veteran revolutionary cadres.

The delegation's wreath bore the inscription "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs." With infinite gratitude, the delegates respectfully commemorated the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed and devoted their entire lives to the struggle for independence, freedom and unification of the country.

Next, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. The delegation's wreath bore the inscription "Eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh."

Delegates expressed their respect and tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader, national liberation hero - who brought glory to our nation and our country.

On the same morning, delegations from the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense, the Central Public Security Party Committee - Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Hanoi City Party Committee and People's Committee, and the Steering Committee for Coordination of Activities of the Ba Dinh Historical-Cultural Relic Cluster laid wreaths and commemorated the heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Monument and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

For the independence, freedom, and unification of the country, for the peace and happiness of the people and the prosperity of the Fatherland, millions of our nation's outstanding children, most of whom are young people, have dedicated their youth and their lives to the country...

The Vietnamese people will forever remember the heroic martyrs. With the national tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", over the past decades, our Party and State have attached great importance to caring for the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and families of those who have rendered service to the country./.
