Lao leaders express condolences on the passing of former General Secretary Do Muoi
The passing of Comrade Do Muoi is not only a loss for the Party, State and people of Vietnam, but the Party, State and people of Laos have also lost a close and dear friend.
Upon hearing the news of the passing of former General Secretary Do Muoi, on October 2, the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the National Assembly, the Government of the Lao PDR and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction sent condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

"We highly appreciate the achievements and great contributions of Comrade Do Muoi in the struggle for national independence of the Vietnamese people in the past, as well as in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country of Vietnam during his 80 years of revolutionary activities. Throughout the past time, Comrade Do Muoi has made great contributions to developing and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and people of Laos and Vietnam. With the passing of Comrade Do Muoi, not only the Vietnamese Party, State and people have lost a beloved leader and a staunch revolutionary, but our Lao Party, State and people have also lost a close and dear friend.
