Provincial leaders congratulate Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 18, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and congratulated the staff and teachers of Nghe An Vocational College of Commerce and Tourism on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.

At the meeting, Dr. Le Duc Bich - Principal of the College of Tourism and Commerce reported on the implementation of tasks in the past time, with encouraging results such as: The College has actively contributed to training human resources for the province; the position and brand of the College have been affirmed not only in the province but also in the provinces in the North Central region. The College is currently training 8 majors at the college level, 6 majors at the intermediate level in the fields of: tourism, services, hotels, economics, and commerce.

Over the years, the school has successfully completed its comprehensive tasks, becoming one of the 40 key national investment schools. The school has achieved level 3 in vocational training quality (the highest quality assessment of the vocational training system); the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has entrusted it with training in 5 key occupations (including 3 international-level occupations and 2 ASEAN-level occupations). The school has attracted many strategic projects; there is a Center for career counseling and student support, so it has solved the problem of employment for students after training (an average of nearly 1,000 people each year, both domestically and internationally) reaching a rate of over 90%, creating conditions for students to study and strive. In addition, the school also conducts training according to the address and requirements of businesses. In this school year alone, the school's enrollment rate reached 104%. At the 2014 Provincial Vocational Teacher Training Conference, the school had 5 participating teachers who all won high prizes and the first prize for the whole delegation.

The process, equipment and training quality as well as the teaching staff of the school in recent years have made great strides, not only affirming the brand in the field of vocational training domestically but also reaching international standards; hoping that the staff and teachers of the school will continue to have comprehensive innovation in education and training, focusing on innovation in processes and curriculum to reach ASEAN quality training.
