Provincial leaders offer incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at cemeteries and relics in Quang Tri

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 3, towards the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the delegation of the National Assembly of the province led by comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee went to Quang Tri province to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs.

Accompanying the delegation were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Internal Affairs Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Pham Trong Hoang - Chief of the Provincial Party Office; Nguyen Quynh Hoa - Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union; Doan Hong Vu - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors.

The delegation offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery - the resting place of 10,263 martyrs, including 1,297 martyrs from Nghe An and Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery - the resting place of 10,754 martyrs, including nearly 200 martyrs from Nghe An.

Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery are the resting places of heroic martyrs and also shining symbols of revolutionary heroism, spirit, will to fight for independence and aspiration for peace of our people.

At the cemeteries, in the sacred atmosphere, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders offered incense and flowers at the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh; offered flowers and incense at the Memorial; rang the bell to pray for the heroic martyrs and held a ceremony, offered flowers, incense and burned incense at each grave of the martyrs from Nghe An.

Delegation from Nghe An province came to offer flowers and incense at Quang Tri Citadel. In 1972, our army and people fought bravely and steadfastly to protect Quang Tri Citadel and Quang Tri town for 81 days and nights. Thousands of soldiers and people of Quang Tri fought bravely and sacrificed their lives, remaining forever on this land.

Before entering Quang Tri, the provincial delegation visited and offered incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.

Every July, in order to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and demonstrate the noble tradition of our nation, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and the National Assembly Delegation of the province organize working groups to offer flowers and incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Binh, Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.
