Leaders of Gifu province (Japan) admire students of Phan Boi Chau school

(Baonghean.vn) - The leader of Gifu province, Japan said that he greatly admires the academic achievements of Phan Boi Chau school students and hopes that many of the school's students will come to study in Gifu.

On the afternoon of February 22, Mr. Satoshi Horibe - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Labor and Trade of Gifu province, Japan visited and worked at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Receiving the delegation were comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Board of Directors of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is the oldest specialized school in the country, with a 50-year tradition. Currently, the school has 97 teachers, of which 80 are provincial-level excellent teachers, making it one of the specialized schools with the highest quality staff in the country.

The total number of students of the school each year is more than 1,000 with 11 specialized classes. Every year, 100% of the school's students graduate from high school with a high rate of good and excellent results and are constantly in the top of the country in terms of university entrance exam results with a passing rate of over 98%, with many students being valedictorians of major universities and national key universities.

The school is also always among the leading schools in the country with more than 1,200 students achieving National Excellent Student, 34 students participating in international and regional Olympic competitions, including 7 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 7 bronze medals and 2 Certificates of Merit. Especially in the last 5 years, the school has always been in the top 3 of the country in terms of excellent student achievements.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An welcomed the delegation to visit and work at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted - the school named after a patriotic scholar, a son of Nghe An who has many ties with Japan.

The Director of the Department of Education and Training hopes that in the coming time, Nghe An and Gifu provinces will have effective cooperation programs, especially in the field of education.

Also at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Chi - Vice Principal of Phan Chau Chau High School for the Gifted said that many students of the school wish to study abroad in Japan but face language barriers; therefore, she requested Gifu province in particular and Japan in general to support students of the school to have the conditions to learn Japanese.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Satoshi Horibe - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Labor and Trade of Gifu province said that he admired the academic achievements of the school's students. If Gifu province could welcome the school's students to study, it would be an honor for the province.
