Provincial leaders work with Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation
(Baonghean)On the afternoon of July 2, in Hanoi, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the leaders of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) to assess the implementation of social security work and projects in Nghe An province in the past time. Attending were comrades: Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the Party Central Committee - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments. On the Vicem side, there was the participation of the General Director of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation and representatives of Hoang Mai Cement Company.
At the meeting, the leaders of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation discussed some contents of the cooperation agreement between the leaders of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation and the People's Committee of Nghe An province. Regarding the programs to support poor districts, Vicem has decided to support 2 poor districts of the province, Tuong Duong and Ky Son, phase 1 from 2012 to 2014 with an amount of 26.23 billion VND, aiming to eliminate temporary, thatched, dilapidated houses and the education and health sectors according to Resolution 30a of the Government. In the immediate future, Vicem agreed to transfer from Vicem's social security source a total amount of 1.5 billion VND. Vicem has agreed to let the People's Committee of the province buy cement on credit for a maximum of 2 years to build rural roads, the credit purchase value is about 50-100 billion VND.

Regarding the project implementation status, Vicem is currently implementing 4 key projects in Nghe An including: Non-fired Construction Materials Factory Project in Dong Hoi Industrial Park with a capacity of 400,000 m3/year; Vicem Dong Hoi Port Project with a total estimated investment of about 6,000 billion VND; Nghi Duc Urban Area Project (Vinh City); Hoang Mai II Cement Factory Investment Project with a capacity of 4.5 million tons/year. The leaders of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct departments, branches, sectors and 2 districts (Tuong Duong, Ky Son) to create favorable conditions to promptly complete cooperation procedures on mechanisms and policies to help Vicem soon implement its commitments and projects smoothly, quickly and effectively.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Phan Dinh Trac thanked Vicem for its attention to Nghe An province in the past time, and hoped that Vicem would continue to implement the projects and the province promised to fulfill its responsibilities to help Vicem fulfill its commitments. He requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches and sectors to soon complete procedures, mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for Vicem to complete the ongoing projects soon.
