Leaders of Nghe An province offer incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap in Quang Binh

On the morning of July 16, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province visited and offered flowers and incense to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation as head of the delegation.

The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Pham Trong Hoang - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Director of the Provincial Police Department.

Representatives of leaders of units: Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial People's Committee Office, Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Veterans Association, Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Labor Federation, Provincial Farmers' Association.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation respectfully laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate and express gratitude for the exceptionally outstanding contributions and dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people of General Vo Nguyen Giap - an excellent and close student of President Ho Chi Minh; the "Elder Brother" of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Vo Nguyen Giap was born on August 25, 1911, in Loc Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province, in a Confucian family with a rich tradition of patriotism, in a countryside rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions.

After more than 80 years of rich revolutionary activities, General Vo Nguyen Giap's life was closely associated with the cause of fighting for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; he was assigned many important responsibilities by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the People.

In any position, General Vo Nguyen Giap always followed President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Putting public interest first", putting the interests of the Party, the revolution, and the People first.

The General is an outstanding military man, a highly prestigious leader of our Party, State and People; loved, respected and revered by Army officers and soldiers as the "Elder Brother" of the Vietnam People's Army.

The further time goes by, the more great the outstanding contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap become.
