Provincial leaders visited and presented gifts to departments, branches and units in the Finance sector working on the last day of the year.

The delegation included comrades: Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Delegation in charge of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; along with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and a number of departments and branches.

In 2020, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and natural disasters, the socio-economic situation of Nghe An province encountered many difficulties, including budget collection in the area.

However, with the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels; units in the Finance sector have effectively implemented many solutions, so Nghe An's budget revenue has made a breakthrough in the fourth quarter.

As of the late afternoon of December 31, the province’s budget revenue reached VND17,128 billion. This is considered a “spectacular” result in an extremely difficult context.

Visiting leaders, officers and civil servants of Nghe An Tax Department, on behalf of the working delegation, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts and determination of the sector in domestic revenue collection. The sector has taken many measures and solutions, demonstrating its core and proactive role, and together with all levels and sectors, has completed the set goals.

2021 continues to be forecasted to be an extremely difficult year, especially with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the industry to be determined and take action right from the beginning of the year with a proactive and drastic attitude to complete the budget collection task.

In addition, the Nghe An Tax Department needs to continue to strengthen the fight against tax losses; closely coordinate with relevant departments to handle tax evasion and tax fraud; closely monitor value-added tax refund records, especially in export activities; continue to strengthen administrative reform, discipline and order in the performance of public duties.

Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to leaders, officers and civil servants of Nghe An Customs Department. The Provincial Party Secretary shared the difficulties of the industry in 2020, and also acknowledged the results in operations, especially the import-export turnover reaching more than 1.8 billion USD, up 5.7% over the same period last year.

Entering 2021, in the context of general difficulties, Nghe An Customs Department needs to make great efforts and strive to fulfill its budget collection task; at the same time, follow the development flow to resolve procedures as quickly as possible, creating favorable conditions for people and businesses, contributing to attracting investment to the area.

The Customs sector also needs to continue to do well in investigating smuggling, trade fraud, illegal goods; preventing and combating drugs; and continue to do well in administrative reform and modernization of the Customs sector.

The Provincial Party Secretary and the delegation also visited and presented gifts to the State Reserve Department in Nghe Tinh region. In 2020, the Department overcame difficulties and successfully completed and exceeded targets, plans, and tasks.

In particular, the task of "providing national reserve goods to serve the prevention and control of Covid-19, supporting people affected by floods in the Central region and ensuring social security" was voted and ranked 5th out of 10 typical events of the Finance sector in 2020.

Acknowledging and congratulating the results and achievements of the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region in 2020 in all aspects of work, the Provincial Party Secretary hoped that in 2021, the unit would continue to perform well the assigned tasks, so that when "the Party calls, the people need", it can respond promptly; in which it is necessary to preserve reserve goods and means well.

Along with that, the Department needs to pay attention to purchasing agricultural products and goods in the province to serve the reserve, thereby contributing to creating stable output, stimulating economic growth. The industry also needs to coordinate with the provincial authorities to soon build the identified reserve warehouse in the area at the location where the province has arranged the land;...

The delegation visited and presented gifts to the State Treasury of Nghe An province. In 2020, the unit coordinated with relevant agencies to promptly collect taxes into the State budget, while strictly controlling State budget expenditures in accordance with policies, regimes and norms; advising the Provincial People's Committee to remove difficulties and speed up the disbursement of public investment capital in the area.

In particular, the Provincial State Treasury has been very active in administrative reform. With the achieved results, the State Treasury of Vietnam has classified the Nghe An Provincial State Treasury as having excellently completed its tasks in 2020.

Acknowledging the results of the State Treasury of Nghe An province in 2020, entering the new year, the head of the Provincial Party Committee requested the unit to continue to coordinate with related units to effectively implement budget collection; control state budget expenditures to ensure absolute safety; closely follow the budget expenditure estimates to meet, promote and disburse investment capital.

In addition, the unit needs to ensure that it meets the spending needs of units using the State budget; continue to strengthen administrative reforms, especially the application of information technology in operations; pay attention to inspection and examination work, strengthen discipline, order, and prevent corruption and negativity.

The delegation also visited and presented gifts to leaders, officers and civil servants of the Department of Finance. In a very difficult year, promoting its role, functions and tasks, the department has performed its tasks well, especially ensuring timely and adequate payment for regular expenses, social security policies, etc.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy assessed that in 2020, the Department of Finance was very active and flexible in its management; not being confused or passive, but mastering the financial and budget situation of the province.

Entering 2021, the head of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Department of Finance to strengthen revenue management, prevent revenue loss, collect correctly and fully all types of taxes and fees into the State budget; at the same time, preside over and advise the province on policies and mechanisms to support businesses to promote production and business in difficult contexts...

In addition, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the sector to ensure that spending is correct, sufficient, and economical in the spirit of focus, key points, and efficiency. To do so, the sector must pay close attention to strengthening financial and state budget discipline and order; inspecting and checking the use of the state budget.

On the other hand, the department must anticipate and prepare for situations to ensure flexible management of state budget expenditures; continue to apply information technology in budget collection and expenditure activities.

The Provincial Party Secretary also requested that the sectors in the Finance sector continue to coordinate closely to proactively and responsibly resolve the province's work; along with that, closely coordinate with Central agencies to contribute to creating favorable conditions for the province's development.
