At the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc briefly reported on the socio-economic situation of Nghe An province in 2012: Economic growth rate reached 6.63%, average income per capita reached more than 20 million VND. Agricultural, forestry, fishery and aquaculture production remained stable and achieved reasonable growth, foreign affairs were strengthened, investment promotion activities focused on key areas, attracting many feasible projects. The socio-cultural field had many remarkable results, national excellent students and students passing the entrance exams to universities and colleges ranked among the top in the country; social security work was given attention. In 2013, Nghe An continued to exploit the potential advantages of the province, strongly improving the investment environment; improving the quality of growth model transformation; continuing to take good care of the education and health sectors, improving the effectiveness of administrative reform, strengthening national security and defense; taking care of party building work.
