According to the Vietnam Road Administration, in recent times, the operation of mobile weighing stations in localities has still had a situation where many overloaded vehicles passed through many stations without being checked or handled, causing negative public opinion in society, or drivers resisted and sabotaged, making it difficult to handle the situation.
“The installation of cameras to monitor the operation of mobile weighing stations aims to strengthen the inspection and supervision of operations at weighing stations,” the document of the General Department of Roads stated.
In addition, image signals from the mobile weighing station's surveillance camera will be transmitted to the Department of Transport Inspectorate Office and the Department of Transport Office or the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office for online monitoring and must be stored for at least one month to serve post-inspection work.
