Tourist bus overturned, 5 people missing
(Baonghean.vn) - At 6:00 p.m. on September 19, a 7-seat tourist car carrying 7 people passing through Khe Ang spillway, Nghia Hong commune, Nghia Dan district was suddenly swept away by floodwaters and overturned into the ravine.
As soon as the car was swept away, the driver and another person kicked the door open to escape, while 5 passengers on the car were swept away by the flood and went missing. The standing office of the Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of Nghia Dan district said that as soon as the incident occurred, the police, military, rescue forces of the district and local authorities along the Hieu River were present at the scene to search for the missing people, but by 11pm the same day, there were still no results. The car that drifted had license plate 37A, 09031, driven by Mr. Truong Van Thai (born in 1954), residing in Tan Tien block, Hoa Hieu ward, Thai Hoa town, carrying 6 people including: Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nham (born in 1954), Mrs. Phan Thi Dung (born in 1969), Ms. Tran Thi Nga (born in 1976), Vu Thi Thuy Linh (9 years old), Mrs. Nga's child, Vu Ba Hai (5 years old), Mrs. Nga's child, and Mr. Tran Van Ngo, (born in 1954). All of these people lived in Con Nai hamlet, Nghia Khanh commune, Nghia Dan district. When the car drifted, only Mr. Thai and Mr. Ngo escaped, the other 5 people are missing.
Due to the impact of storm No. 8, in the past 2 days, heavy and very heavy rain has occurred in Nghia Dan district, some roads and many bridges have been flooded, causing danger to people and vehicles passing by.
