At the above time, the truck with license plate 36C - 037.51 of Toan Cuong Transport Company (driver's identity unknown) was traveling from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An, carrying more than 200 pigs on the vehicle. When it reached Km284, in the area of hamlet 8, Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district, (on the Vinh City bypass - PV), it was suddenly hit from behind by another truck carrying cement. Due to the sudden crash, the driver of the truck carrying pigs could not handle the situation in time and crashed into the back of the truck of the road repair unit in front.

The sudden collision caused the truck carrying pigs to overturn into a rice field by the roadside, spilling more than 200 pigs out of the truck, of which 23 died. The front of the truck was crushed, the truck bed was severely damaged, dozens of planks covering the truck bed were scattered all over the rice field. The drivers of the two trucks were seriously injured and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Immediately after receiving information about the accident, Nghi Van Commune Police and Nghi Loc District Police were present to promptly regulate traffic, protect the scene and property of the garage.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
