Pentagon concerned about risk of escalation of conflict due to activities of Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Pentagon said the US is concerned about the risk of escalation of the conflict due to military activities by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to RIA Novosti, Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh said at a press conference on August 15 (Washington time), the US is concerned about the risk of escalating the conflict in Ukraine due to the action plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Of course we are always concerned about escalation. Just because Russia has not responded to something does not mean that they cannot or will not do something in the future,” Singh said when asked by journalists to comment on the potential response from Moscow to the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Pentagon deputy spokesman stressed that the US government always provides an analysis and assessment of the risk of escalation. However, despite the current threats, the US and its allies will continue to support Kiev in the long term.
At the same time, referring to the Ukrainian army's attack on the Kursk region, the Pentagon's deputy representative added that Washington is "trying to learn more" about the purposes and goals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Also on August 15, the Inspector General of the US Department of Defense released a report stating that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not believed to have violated the US ban on using long-range weapons to attack deep into Russian territory.
“The Office of the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs states that all evidence, including bilateral dialogue at the leadership level, shows that Ukraine continues to comply with its obligations regarding the use of US weapons on Russian territory,” the document reads.
At the same time, the document states that Washington's policy towards Kiev on the use of long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory is said to have "not changed in any way".
