Pentagon to spend $3 billion to build unmanned submarines
The US Department of Defense plans to spend $3 billion on the design and production of unmanned submarines for the Navy, - according to the Washington Post.

The project is still in the research phase, but engineers have already acquired a series of modern technologies that allow overcoming the obstacles of underwater automation, including the negative effects of salt water and pressure. There are limitations to transmitting communication commands underwater, so the unmanned underwater vehicles of the future will be able to move without direct remote control.
"The goal is to create a system that will allow underwater vehicles to operate underwater for months and even years," — the newspaper said, referring to US military representatives.
