Get opinions on upgrading Bara Do Luong design
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 7, 2015, Mr. Hoang Van Thang - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected and surveyed the plans for upgrading, repairing and constructing Bara Do Luong. Accompanying him was Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
Comrade Hoang Van Thang has conducted a field survey at Do Luong Bara. Currently, the construction units have blocked the flow at 2 culverts of the bara to survey and investigate the current status of the project in order to propose plans to rebuild the bara.
This is a key project within the overall project "Restoring and Upgrading the Northern Nghe An Irrigation System" with a total investment of over VND 5,700 billion from Japanese ODA loans. The restoration and upgrading of the entire Northern irrigation system aims to ensure long-term project safety and stable irrigation for more than 27,000 hectares of rice and vegetables. In addition, the project also drains more than 1,400 hectares of water for the Yen Thanh - Dien Chau low-lying area, prevents salinity, and retains fresh water to create a water source for agriculture and daily life.

Also during this time, the delegation inspected the Nam Dan 2 culvert project. The project is under construction and has completed more than 90% of the project volume, striving to put the project into use by the end of July.

After the field trip, Mr. Hoang Van Thang - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development chaired a workshop to collect opinions from leading experts in irrigation from the Central and Nghe An on design options for Bara Do Luong. After listening to the design unit propose 4 construction options along with the experts' opinions, Mr. Hoang Van Thang - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development thanked the experts for their enthusiastic opinions, and assigned the consulting unit to synthesize opinions and edit the documents to have a complete design, ensuring both aesthetic beauty and high technical quality, and the project's effectiveness. The Deputy Minister requested the consulting unit to complete the design on schedule set by the province and the Ministry./.
