Nghia Dan Labor Union: 260 million VND to support fishermen in Hoang Sa and Truong Sa

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 15, the Labor Federation of Nghia Dan district held a conference to summarize the Union's activities in 2014 and deploy tasks for 2015.

In 2014, with the attention and direction of the Party Committees and authorities of the whole district, the solidarity and unity of all workers, employees and laborers, the activities of the Trade Union achieved encouraging results. The district currently has 4,677 union members, operating in 119 affiliated grassroots trade unions.

Over the past year, the working conditions of union members have been basically guaranteed, and their living standards have been increasingly improved. Labor safety and hygiene work has been implemented quite well. There have been no fires or work accidents in the area. Together with departments and branches, we supported the construction of Union Shelters for 2 families of union members in difficult circumstances with an amount of 30 million VND. We organized activities in response to "Workers' Month" in 2014 with the theme: "Accompanying workers", organizing the movements "Teach well, study well", "Good workers, creative workers", building green-clean-beautiful agencies... We coordinated with the Provincial Federation of Labor to organize mobile communication on policies, labor laws and reproductive health for union members. We responded to the program "Net of affection for fishermen of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa" with more than 260 million VND...

On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded 9 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements, the District Federation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 20 collectives and 68 individuals with outstanding achievements in 2014.
