Memorial service for the Soviet martyrs of Nghe Tinh

(Baonghean.vn) -Commemorating the 84th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2014), on the evening of September 11, at the September 12 Soviet Square - Hung Nguyen District, the Nghe An Buddhist Executive Committee coordinated with the Provincial Martyrs' Families Support Association to hold a grand ceremony to pray for the souls of 217 martyrs who heroically fell on September 12, 1930 in the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Executive Committee of Nghe An Province's Buddhism, representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, the District Party Committee, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen District, relatives of martyrs' families, and a large number of monks, nuns, and Buddhists from near and far.

Under the direction of Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the prayer ceremony was held solemnly and sacredly. The prayer ceremony was organized into 3 parts including: the ceremony to receive the spirit, summon the spirit, the great prayer ceremony and the ceremony to invite the souls. The great ceremony is a meaningful humane activity expressing heartfelt gratitude, deep sympathy for the pain and loss of relatives of the families of martyrs who died in the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement, praying for national peace, world peace, and happiness for all living beings.
