(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 10th, in Nghi Hop commune (Nghi Loc district), the Nguyen Dinh clan council solemnly organized the grand commemoration ceremony for the 550th anniversary of the death of Grand Tutor and Duke Nguyen Xi (October 30, 1465 - October 30, 2015, according to the lunar calendar).

The grand memorial ceremony for Grand Tutor and Duke of Cương Quốc, Nguyễn Xí, was held in Nghi Hợp (Nghi Lộc).

Grand Tutor and Duke of Cương Quốc, Nguyễn Xí, was born in 1397 in Thượng Xá village, Chân Phúc district, now Nghi Hợp commune, Nghi Lộc district. He was one of the foremost founding fathers of the nation, a talented, courageous, and strategic general. He made immense contributions to the Lam Sơn uprising, repelling the Ming invaders in the 15th century, and was a powerful advisor to four Lê dynasty kings. Furthermore, he made significant contributions to the formation of many villages and communes in the Northern Delta region and the eastern Nghi Lộc area, including Cửa Lò town in the 15th century.
