Welcoming ceremony for 2 students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted who won gold and silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad
This morning, July 19, 2011, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, together with the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, teachers, parents, and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, held a ceremony to welcome two students who won gold and silver medals at the 42nd International Physics Olympiad and just returned from Thailand: Nguyen Huy Hoang (gold medal) and Nguyen Dinh Hoi (silver medal). Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

At the 42nd International Physics Olympiad held in Thailand, 5/5 of the Vietnamese delegation won prizes. 2/5 of the medals won by the Vietnamese delegation belonged to excellent students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province. Even more outstanding - Nguyen Huy Hoang, a 12A3 student of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, has entered his name in the list of 54 best contestants in the world at the 42nd International Physics Olympiad. The Gold Medal won by Nguyen Huy Hoang is also the only gold medal of the Vietnamese delegation of excellent students.
Before winning the international Gold Medal, Hoang won the Bronze Medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad, held in Israel. Hoang won the first and second prizes in the national Physics Olympiad. Along with Nguyen Huy Hoang, Nguyen Dinh Hoi, a student of class 12A3, also won the Silver Medal at the 2011 International Physics Olympiad.

In just 5 years, from 2006 to present, students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted have won 3 international Physics Gold Medals, 1 Asian Physics Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 3 international and regional Bronze Medals.
This achievement has brought the quality of education and training of Nghe An to a new peak, worthy of international standards; proving that the tradition of studiousness of Nghe An students from the past is being inherited and effectively promoted by today's generations of students, contributing to bringing glory to the Fatherland and making the homeland famous.
