Ceremony to hang the plaque to celebrate the 70th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2nd

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 1, the Ministry of Transport coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to organize a ceremony to attach a plaque to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 - 70 years of the tradition of the Transport sector at the Le Dynasty Canal Memorial Site (Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district).

Attending the ceremony were comrades Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hong Ky - Director of the Department of Transport, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and Nghi Loc district.

Delegates offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Le Canal Memorial.

The Le Dynasty Canal was initiated by King Le Dai Hanh in 983. This is an important waterway system connecting Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. In 1996, Nghe An Department of Transport built the Le Dynasty Canal Memorial in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District. However, after many years of use, the project has deteriorated. In December 2014, Nghe An Department of Transport launched a movement of donations from agencies and units in the transport sector, especially the donations from a number of construction units of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A, invested by the Department of Transport, to restore the Le Dynasty Canal Memorial.

The Le Dynasty Canal Memorial was restored with resources.Contributions and support from agencies, units in the transport sector and some construction units of the National Highway 1A Upgrade and Expansion Project.

The Le Canal Memorial was renovated with a total investment of 1.9 billion VND. The renovated items include a 9m high, 3x3m reinforced concrete memorial covered with granite; above is a 4.2m high ceramic sail-shaped symbol; renovation of the east side and addition of the west side of two reinforced concrete reliefs; green stone paved yard; renovation of the system of stairs, railings and planting of trees in front of the campus.

The ceremony of attaching the construction plaque on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, 70 years of the tradition of the Transport sector at the Le Canal Memorial Site is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" of the people of Nghe An province in particular and the Vietnamese people in general; is a gratitude for the great contributions of King Le and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives to fight foreign invaders to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; at the same time, it serves the cultural and sightseeing needs of the people and is a place to educate patriotic traditions, arousing national pride in the young generation./.
