Hung Temple Festival 2013 takes place in 7 days
Hung Kings Temple Festival 2013 will take place for 7 days (from April 13 to 19, or from March 4 to 10 of the lunar calendar).
On the morning of April 1, in Hanoi, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province and the Ministry of Information and Communications held a press conference to inform about the activities of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival 2013 and to welcome the event "Hung Kings' worship in Phu Tho" recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The activities of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival are a response to and concretization of the National Tourism Development Program, and at the same time an important step to implement the policy of building Viet Tri city as a festival city returning to the roots of the Vietnamese people.
The Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival 2013 will take place over 7 days (from April 13 to 19, or from March 4 to 10 of the lunar calendar). The ceremony will be held solemnly, respectfully, and in a community-oriented manner, along with activities honoring the cultural heritage of the Hung Kings' worship.

Mr. Ha Ke San, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival 2013 said that the 2013 festival has the participation of 8 provinces across the 3 regions of North - Central - South: Lang Son, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Dak Lak, Binh Dinh, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
The focus of the activities of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival is the Ceremony to honor and receive the Certificate of Recognition of "Hung Kings' Worship in Phu Tho" as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity with the theme "Sacred Origin of the Land of the Hung Kings" and the opening of the Hung Temple Festival 2013. After the ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition is an art program consisting of 3 chapters: Chapter 1 - The Dragon - Fairy Lineage - Sacredness of the two words "Compatriots"; Chapter 2 - Spiritual journey to the origin, gratitude to the National Ancestor Hung Kings; Chapter 3 - Phu Tho - The magical spring of the country.
The ceremony took place at 8:00 p.m. on the 4th day of the 3rd lunar month (April 13, 2013) at the Festival Center - Hung Temple Historical Relic Site and was broadcast live on VTV1, Vietnam Television and ended at 10:00 p.m. with a high-altitude fireworks display at the square of Viet Tri city (Phu Tho).
The festival part of the Hung Temple Festival 2013 has many diverse and unique activities, ensuring joy, health, safety, economy, and a harmonious combination of traditional and modern folk culture. Cultural and sports activities are organized on a large scale from Viet Tri city to the Hung Temple Festival Center and surrounding areas, associated with honoring the cultural heritage of "Hung King worship in Phu Tho".
Notable among these activities is the Street Festival with the theme "The culture of the Hung Kings' land converges and shines", taking place on the morning of the 4th day of the 3rd lunar month, on the streets of Viet Tri city and Hung Vuong square - Viet Tri city, with content introducing the colorful folk culture of the Hung Kings' land.
In addition, there are also incense offering ceremonies to commemorate the Hung Kings and figures related to the Hung Kings era at relics in the province; palanquin processions from outlying communes; contests to wrap banh chung and banh giay, organizing the program "Hat xoan lang co" associated with cultural tourism spots, cultural camps, art performances, exhibitions of products and culinary culture of districts, cities and towns in the province; performances of folk culture of ethnic groups in Phu Tho province; the 3rd Phu Tho Xoan singing and folk song festival; photo exhibition "Hung Kings worship in community cultural life", and many sports activities...
Mr. Ha Ke San, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival added that Phu Tho province has directed relevant sectors to complete the ground level of Hung Kings Square and provide electricity to this area to ensure the organization of important festival activities; ensure security and order before, during and after the festival; strengthen management and rectify advertising and visual propaganda activities; focus on cultural, artistic and propaganda activities; organize traffic diversion from a distance, resolutely avoid congestion; organize vehicle parking according to regulations, strictly implement price posting, and handle violators./.
