This Hung Temple Festival 2008, takes place from the 6th to the 10th of March (lunar calendar) in a large space with the focus being the Hung Temple Relic Site and Viet Tri City. The incense offering ceremony on March 10 has the participation of representatives of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, overseas Vietnamese delegation, 100 Lac - Hong descendants delegation, delegation wearing ceremonial costumes, palanquin procession, honor guard carrying the national flag along with a large number of compatriots and tourists mingling in the resounding and sacred sound of ceremonial music dedicated to the Hung King's death anniversary. The festival part, with traditional folk cultural activities taking place vibrantly such as: xoan singing, palanquin procession, comedy performances, dragon, unicorn, lion dances... Banh day pounding and banh chung wrapping contests of 30 provinces representing the Northern, Central, Southern and Central Highlands regions; Cultural camp and Folk Song Festival with many themes, many unique folk cultural performances imbued with the cultural identity of the Ancestral Land; bronze drum, gong and folk performances by ethnic artists... Many unique and attractive cultural and sports activities with the participation of professional art troupes such as: Vietnam Music and Dance Theater, Viet Bac Folk Music and Dance Troupe, Vietnam Circus Federation, Lao Cai Music and Dance Troupe, Yen Bai Art Troupe; Hwa Seong Art Troupe of Korea and Luong Nam Tha Art Troupe (Laos). Music night towards the Origin with the participation of many famous artists along with activities: Poetry Night of the Ancestral Land, Workshop to determine criteria for building a scientific dossier: "Hung King Cultural Space" proposed to UNESCO for recognition as a World Cultural Heritage"; Book exhibition "Hung Temple Festival past and present"; Film screening "Returning to the Origin"... Besides cultural and artistic activities, many sports activities are organized throughout the festival such as swimming competition on Lo River, chess competition, human chess, men's volleyball championship, friendly tennis... Also in the festival space, for the first time, a fair displaying and introducing fruit specialties of provinces and cities across the country with the theme "Sweet fruit fragrance offered to the Hung Kings" was organized and opened from March 6. Here, fruit specialties of all regions of the country are introduced; including many famous specialties of Phu Tho... In particular, on the night of March 9, a jubilant and colorful fireworks display The color certainly leaves a deep impression on the hearts of locals and tourists.
This year's Hung Temple Festival will be organized carefully. From the roads, the police force and young volunteers will lead the way along a reasonable route; many new parking lots have been built; the system of signs, direction signs, and sanitation facilities ensure that people attending the festival feel secure and comfortable. The shops in the Hung Temple and Viet Tri areas are neatly planned, aesthetically pleasing, and have price lists. The system of motels, hotels, and restaurants meets the needs of tourists...
On the Hung Kings' death anniversary, light a stick of incense to show gratitude to the Hung Kings who built the country.
