(Baonghean) -On February 22 and 23, 2011 (January 20 and 21 of the Year of the Cat), the Van Temple - Cua Rao festival took place in Xa Luong commune (Tuong Duong district, Nghe An).

The ceremony took place solemnly and sacredly with the opening ceremony, proclamation, sacrifice, and procession; the festival was attractive with folk games imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Tuong Duong and cultural exchanges, and festival beauty contests.

This is an occasion for local people and tourists from all over to pay tribute to General Doan Nhu Hai (during the Tran Dynasty), who had great merit in repelling foreign invaders, keeping the country safe and sacrificed his life in the Cua Rao area. Van-Cua Rao Temple also worships Tam Toa Thanh Mau, one of the four mothers in folk beliefs.
