Festival to celebrate the founding anniversary of Mon Son Party Cell
(Baonghean) -Every year, in April, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Con Cuong district together with the people of Mon Son, Luc Da and Yen Khe communes solemnly organize the Festival to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Mon Son Party Cell (April 15, 1931), the first Party Cell of the mountainous ethnic minority region of Nghe An to review a heroic historical period of the homeland and country...
Through the two sacred resistance wars of the nation, the people of Mon Son - Muong Qua made significant contributions in terms of manpower and resources, contributing to the victory. Mon Son commune alone mobilized 2,780 people to participate in the civilian labor, thousands of young people joined the army and youth volunteers, contributing thousands of tons of food to the resistance war; 94 outstanding children of Mon Son sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and 35 war invalids, 01 heroic Vietnamese mother, 1,389 collectives and individuals were commended by the Party and the State, the Con Chua banyan tree and the house of Mr. Vi Van Khang, where the Mon Son Party Cell was officially established, were recognized as Revolutionary Historical Relics. In particular, in 1996, the people of Mon Son commune were honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition of the previous generation, with the attention and investment of the Party and the State for the people in the border areas, in the renovation process, the people of Mon Son - Muong Qua (including the Thai, Kinh, and Dan Lai ethnic groups) have achieved proud results. The average income per capita is nearly 500,000 VND/month, the poverty rate is decreasing. Mon Son Party Committee currently has 19 Party cells with 229 Party members, and has been recognized as a clean and strong Party Committee for many consecutive years.
Imbued with the moral of “When drinking water, remember its source”, on April 14-15, the Party Committee, government and people of Muong Qua region organized a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Mon Son Party Cell, with the participation of 3 communes: Mon Son, Luc Da, Yen Khe. The festival activities began with an incense offering ceremony at the relic of Mr. Vi Van Khang’s house. This was followed by activities to review the tradition of the Mon Son Party Cell, praising the achievements of the government at all levels and the people of Muong Qua in historical periods.
The festival took place with rich and exciting activities such as folk songs: khap, lam, nhom; lam vong dance, performances by the traditional musical instrument club, folk games such as stick pushing, crossbow shooting, throwing con, tug of war, cooking competition, etc.
