55th Anniversary of Hanoi Moi Newspaper's First Daily Issue

This morning (October 23), the 55th anniversary of the first daily issue of Hanoi Moi Newspaper was solemnly held at the Hanoi Opera House.

The welcoming performance was performed by the Youth Union of Hanoi Moi Newspaper and the Art Troupe of the Air Defense - Air Force Command.

55 years ago, on October 24, 1957, Hanoi Capital Newspaper, the predecessor of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, officially published its first daily issue. Since then, October 24 has become the traditional day of Hanoi Moi Newspaper.

This is an opportunity for generations of Hanoi Moi journalists to review the glorious historical journey of the past, and at the same time draw valuable lessons to continue promoting and successfully completing political tasks in the new period.

Opening the Celebration Ceremony, Mr. To Quang Phan, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, read a speech reviewing the glorious history of Hanoi Moi Newspaper over the past 55 years, especially the collective achievements of the staff, reporters and employees of Hanoi Moi Newspaper in recent years.

Since the first daily issue was published (October 24, 1957) until now, under the leadership of the Party and the direct and close guidance of the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has always been a sharp and effective propaganda tool, making an important contribution to the cause of national liberation, building Socialism, as well as building and developing the Capital and the country today.

Hanoi Moi Newspaper has done a good job of disseminating the Party and State's guidelines and policies, especially the guidelines and decisions of the Party Committee and the city government; promptly reflecting the opinions and aspirations of all classes of people, encouraging and praising good examples and advanced models in the emulation movements of labor, production, fighting and studying, criticizing and strongly fighting against social evils and bad habits...

Since August 1, 2008, implementing Resolution 15 of the 12th National Assembly on the expansion of the administrative boundaries of the Capital, with the added strength of Ha Tay Newspaper with a tradition of more than 40 years of establishment and development, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has entered a new stage of development. This is also the time when the Newspaper has to overcome many difficulties in many aspects.
