Rally in response to World Environment Day (June 5)
(Baonghean) -This morning, June 3, at Pu Mat National Park (Con Cuong district, Nghe An), a rally was held to respond to World Environment Day June 5 and the International Year of Forests 2011 with the theme "Forests - the value of life from nature".
Attending the rally were comrade Nguyen Dinh Chi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of provincial and district departments and branches.

Recently, Nghe An province organized the announcement and received the Certificate of Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve awarded by UNESCO. The biosphere reserve is located in 9 mountainous districts in the West of Nghe An, with an area of over 1.3 million hectares, the largest in Southeast Asia. This is a green corridor connecting Pu Mat National Park, Pu Huong and Pu Hoat Conservation Areas, creating continuity in living environment and habitats.

At the rally, comrade Nguyen Dinh Chi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: It is necessary to strengthen and diversify many forms of propaganda activities to raise awareness of environmental protection. Actively participate in tree planting, afforestation, and reforestation projects to replace slash-and-burn cultivation. Improve forest management and protection, use natural resources economically. Speed up the implementation and handling of urgent environmental issues in the province.
