Flag raising ceremony "Unification of the country" on Ben Hai river
This is a traditional ceremony of the people of Quang Tri province, a heroic and also tragic land during the war years.
On the morning of April 30, 2013, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai historical site in Quang Tri province, a flag-raising ceremony was held to celebrate the national reunification day - the 38th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. This is a traditional ceremony of the people of Quang Tri province, a heroic and also tragic land during the war years.
Flag raising ceremony to unify the country on the banks of Ben Hai
Attending the flag-raising ceremony were Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chinh, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, along with a large number of people on both banks of Ben Hai River, delegates attending the 5th Young Architects Festival - 2013 in Quang Tri, and boat racing athletes of the Quang Tri Province Traditional Boat Racing Tournament.
After the flag-raising ceremony was the official opening ceremony of the 5th National Young Architects Festival – 2013. This is a regular activity of the Vietnam Association of Architects. The 2013 Young Architects Festival in Quang Tri had the theme “Back to the Memory” with the participation of more than 600 delegates – young architects from all over the country.
Here, young architects have many activities such as: Discussion on professional activities and organizations; seminars on green architecture, construction materials; summary and award ceremony of the "Symbol of Peace" design competition; visiting historical sites; sketching about Quang Tri; cultural and sports exchanges... The program is organized by the Executive Board of the Young Architects Club (Vietnam Association of Architects) and the Quang Tri Provincial Association of Architects, under the direction of the Vietnam Association of Architects and the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province.
Also at Hien Luong Wharf, after the flag-raising ceremony, the opening ceremony of the 2013 Quang Tri Province Traditional Boat Racing Tournament took place, welcoming the 6th Quang Tri Province Sports Festival (2013-2014).
The national flag was raised on the old border flagpole - a place that represents the indomitable spirit during the years of bombs and bullets of war, and also the aspiration for peace and unification.
