Flag-lowering ceremony for the State funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong at Ba Dinh
Despite heavy rain from early morning, the flag-lowering ceremony was still solemnly held at Ba Dinh Square, beginning the two-day State funeral for former President Tran Duc Luong on May 24-25.
At exactly 6:00 a.m. on May 24, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command performed the ceremony of hanging the mourning band on the national flag and raising the flag at half-mast at Ba Dinh Square, beginning the two-day State funeral for former President Tran Duc Luong (May 24-25).
Although it rained heavily from early morning, the flag-lowering ceremony was still held solemnly at Ba Dinh Square.
During the National Funeral, agencies and offices nationwide and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad must fly flags at half-mast, with mourning bands (1/10 the width of the flag, the length of the flag, and only hang the flag to 2/3 the height of the flagpole, using black cloth to tie the flag so it does not fly), and no public entertainment activities are organized.
According to the announcement of the Funeral Organizing Committee, the coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong will be laid to rest at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
Visitation begins at 7:00 a.m. on May 24 and ends at 7:00 a.m. on May 25.
The memorial service will take place at 7:00 a.m. on May 25, and the burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. on the same day at the hometown cemetery in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.
At the same time, the funeral and memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong were held at Thong Nhat Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hall T50, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, 142 Le Trung Dinh, Quang Ngai City.
The Funeral Committee for former President Tran Duc Luong consists of 34 members, headed by President Luong Cuong.
