This morning (May 3), at the Ministry of National Defense Funeral Home (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City), the Air Defense - Air Force Command and the family held a funeral for two pilots who died while performing combat flight training missions.

President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent wreaths. The Ministry of National Defense decided to posthumously promote pilot Le Van Nghia from Lieutenant Colonel to Senior Colonel and pilot Nguyen Anh Tu from Captain to Major.
In the condolence book, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defense, wrote: "The sacrifice of the comrades has left a shining example for officers and soldiers of the entire army in general, and the Air Defense - Air Force in particular, to follow; contributing to beautifying the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland."

Visiting the two pilots, Mr. Le Nhiem, in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province said: "We love these two pilots very much. I still have in my pocket a letter from Nghia inviting me to join the 937th Regiment in celebrating. Nghia is very kind and we like him. When I heard the news, I had to fly from Phan Trang to attend the memorial service for the two of them."
Previously, at 11:35 a.m. on April 16, 2015, the Su-22 aircraft training flight crew of Air Force Regiment 937, Air Force Division 370, Air Defense - Air Force, while performing combat flight training missions, encountered an incident in the air, leading to a flight accident in the Phu Quy island district, Binh Thuan province./.
