    From early morning, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Committee, People's Council, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and units, agencies and sectors were present at Thong Nhat Hall (District 1) to prepare for the memorial service for President Tran Dai Quang, which took place at the same time as the memorial service and the transfer of President Tran Dai Quang's body to his hometown in Ninh Binh.

    Before that, from 5:30 a.m., all roads leading to the funeral home area at 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, security checkpoints including traffic police and mobile police were ready. Along Tran Thanh Tong street from Tran Hung Dao street, police wearing white gloves lined up, standing solemnly.

    At the funeral home gate, the procession of nine cars carrying the President's body lined up neatly, numbered from 1 to 9. In the funeral home yard, there were three cars, including a gun carriage carrying the coffin and a flower car.

    The procession will consist of two vehicles carrying portraits and military flags in the lead, followed by a convoy of trucks carrying the 127 honor guard: Army, Navy and Air Force. Team 127 consists of 127 people symbolizing the sea, land and sky. Next will be the artillery trailer carrying the President's coffin, followed by two flower cars.

    Following the convoy carrying the remains was the convoy carrying the President's family.

    After more than a year of treatment for a serious illness, President Tran Dai Quang passed away at 10:05 a.m. on September 21 at the 108 Central Military Hospital. Vietnam held two days of national mourning in his memory (September 26 and 27). Government offices and public places flew flags at half-mast and all entertainment activities were suspended.

    The funeral of the President was held from 7am yesterday morning at three locations: Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi), Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC), and Quang Thien Commune (Ninh Binh) - the President's hometown, which is also his burial place.

    In Hanoi, where his body is located, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and wrote in the condolence book.     The Organizing Committee of the State Funeral of President Tran Dai Quang said that as of 5 p.m. yesterday, September 26, there were about 1,500 domestic and international delegations with 50,000 people coming to pay their respects to the late President. Of these, about 430 delegations paid their respects at the Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City; over 200 delegations and thousands of people paid their respects in Kim Son District, Ninh Binh Province - the President's hometown.
