Online enticement of 'easy work, high salary' to sell people to Cambodia
The subjects set up Facebook to post information about "easy work, high salary" on social networking groups and forums to "hook" gullible young people. After bringing people to Cambodia, they would be paid 500 USD per person.
On July 23, the Criminal Police Department, Hanoi City Police, announced that the unit had just initiated a case and prosecuted two suspects, Luu Truong An (born in 2002, permanent residence in Lam Ho village, Thanh Lam commune, Me Linh, Hanoi) and Nguyen Thanh Sang (born in 1979, permanent residence in Hong Xuan village, Ky Tay commune, Ky Anh, Ha Tinh) for human trafficking.
Previously, in early December 2023, Luu Truong An discussed with Nguyen Thanh Sang to post information on Facebook about recruiting people to work in Cambodia. After that, Sang and An texted with Vietnamese people working in Cambodia to negotiate the salary for sending people to Cambodia at a price of 500 USD/person sent to Cambodia.

Luu Truong An created Facebook accounts to post information about recruiting workers on groups. By the end of December 2023, Nguyen Van Quan, a native of Bac Giang, saw An's post and proactively texted An. An advised and instructed him to lie that he would only work on the computer in Cambodia, and created Facebook accounts pretending to be a girl to talk to, get to know, and seduce Vietnamese men, with a salary of 25 million/month.
Seeing that, Mr. Quan agreed to go to Cambodia to work according to An's advice. After that, Sang contacted the subject in Cambodia and took Mr. Quan to Ho Chi Minh City. After that, the subjects took Mr. Quan to Cambodia through a small border route.
Upon arriving in Cambodia, the subjects took Quan to a company owned by a Chinese person and had him use a computer to call Vietnamese customers to defraud them of money. By the end of January 2024, because Quan could not do his job, the company's managers beat him and forced his family to transfer money before releasing him to Vietnam. After that, Quan's family had to transfer a total of 176,000,000 VND to the subjects where Quan was working and then Quan was released to Vietnam.
