Young woman looking for a job through social media, unexpectedly falls into the hands of a human trafficking group
Bac Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) has just prosecuted a group of people who bought and sold young girls for 39 million VND to work as employees at a massage business.
On the afternoon of June 6, the Bac Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) announced that they had initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and detained Nguyen Tien Thanh (born 2001, in Soc Son District), Ngo Xuan Tuan (born 2004, in Yen Son District, Tuyen Quang Province), Le Duc Manh (born 2006, in Yen Dung District, Bac Giang Province), Nguyen Van Phong (born 1988, in Bac Tu Liem District) and Tran Cong Chat (born 1988, in Gia Lam District) to investigate the crime of "Human trafficking".

Previously, Bac Tu Liem District Police received the case file from Bac Giang City Police (Bac Giang Province). Specifically, Ms. M. filed a complaint about her daughter, H., being sold to karaoke and massage businesses in Hanoi.
When H. did not want to work at the massage parlor, the subjects informed her relatives to bring money to ransom her. H. was then taken home and reported the incident to the police.
Police determined that from early 2023 until now, Nguyen Tien Thanh has been recruiting female beer pourers at karaoke bars around the Nhon intersection (Bac Tu Liem district) by posting on Facebook.
Thanh rented a room in Tay Tuu ward (Bac Tu Liem district) for himself and his group Ngo Xuan Tuan, Le Duc Manh to live in, and to manage the female employees.
On April 11, H. texted Thanh to ask for this job. Thanh agreed and texted Tuan and Manh to go to Bac Giang to pick H. up and take her to the rented room.
While there, H. went out with Thanh's group and borrowed 10 million VND to buy a mobile phone. After working two shifts in one evening at the karaoke business where Thanh's group was in charge of providing service staff, H. told a "female colleague" that she would run away and not do this job anymore.
The female employee told Manh about the incident, and Manh told Thanh. Knowing what happened, Thanh called the whole group of employees and beat H., then called a former employee in Thanh Hoa to ask if they needed employees.
Knowing that a karaoke business in Thanh Hoa was recruiting, the group brought H. there.
However, when he arrived, the facility refused to accept H. because she was under 18 years old. Seeing this, Thanh posted on Facebook that a female employee owed 40 million VND, "Is anyone here to pick her up?"
Upon seeing the above information, Tran Cong Chat contacted Thanh's group, asked for a 1 million VND discount on the taxi fare and paid 39 million VND to pick up H. to his massage business in Trau Quy town, Gia Lam district, Hanoi.
