Article 32 of the Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking stipulates the subjects and support regime for victims of human trafficking as follows:
-Victims who are Vietnamese citizens or stateless persons permanently residing in Vietnam, depending on the cases specified in Articles 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38 of this Law, shall enjoy the following support regimes:
a) Support for essential needs and travel expenses;
b) Medical support (During the stay at a social protection facility or victim support facility, if the victim needs medical care to recover, he/she will be considered for support for medical examination and treatment costs);
c) Psychological support (Victims are supported to stabilize their psychology during their stay at social protection facilities or victim support facilities);
d) Legal aid (Victims are provided with legal advice to prevent re-trafficking and legal aid to complete procedures for household registration, civil status, receive support, claim compensation for damages, participate in litigation and other legal procedures related to human trafficking cases. The order and procedures for legal aid are implemented according to the provisions of law on legal aid);
d) Support for cultural studies and vocational training (If the victim is a minor from a poor household, if he/she continues to go to school, he/she will be supported with tuition fees, textbooks and school supplies in the first school year. When the victim returns to his/her locality, if he/she is from a poor household, he/she will be considered for vocational training support);
e) Initial hardship allowance, loan support (When returning to their locality, if the victim is a poor household, they will receive a one-time initial hardship allowance. Victims who need to borrow capital for production and business will be considered for loan conditions in accordance with the law);
- Foreign victims of human trafficking in Vietnam, depending on the cases specified in Articles 33, 34, 35 and 36 of this Law, are entitled to the support regimes specified in Points a, b, c and d, Clause 1 of this Article.
- Minors accompanying the victim, depending on the cases specified in Articles 33, 34 and 35 of this Law, shall enjoy the support regime specified in Points a, b and c, Clause 1 of this Article.
