Plan to salvage CASA aircraft near Bach Long Vi island

(Baonghean.vn)- A source from Nghe An Newspaper said that on the morning of June 17, after determining the location of the crashed CASA plane, the rescue team is planning to salvage it.

The CASA 212 plane was determined to have sunk on Bach Long Vi Island, at a depth of about 58m. Earlier, on the evening of June 16, search forces discovered some debris suspected to be from the CASA 212 plane.

On the morning of June 17, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung was present at the Command Center to direct search and rescue operations.

Previously, CASA 212 aircraft departed from Gia Lam in the search for SU30 pilot Tran Quang Khai and lost contact at 12:30 on June 16.

There were 9 people on the plane, led by Colonel Le Kiem Toan - Brigade Commander of Brigade 918 as captain.

In Nghe An, the search for pilot Tran Quang Khai and the SU30 aircraft is still being actively carried out. The rescue force has mobilized 191 ships from the military, navy, coast guard and fishing boats to participate in the search. The number of people participating in the search is up to 2,300.

The search area is divided into three zones. The inner area near the shore is taken care of by the Military Region 4 and the Border Guard. The next area is taken care of by the Navy and the outermost area is taken care of by the Coast Guard.

On the afternoon of June 16, search forces discovered and salvaged an object suspected to be the axle of the SU30 aircraft.
